Effective July 21, 2026
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, posting a job, sending an offer, or otherwise using House Hand, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use House Hand for a business, you confirm that you may bind that business.
2. What House Hand is
House Hand is a marketplace that helps homeowners connect with independent local workers and service providers. House Hand does not perform the work, employ workers, supervise jobs, set prices, verify every claim, or guarantee results. Workers set their own prices, availability, methods, and qualifications. Homeowners choose who to hire and are responsible for confirming that a worker is appropriate for the job.
A homeowner and worker decide whether to work together and are responsible for their own agreement. House Hand is not a party to that agreement. House Hand does not assign workers, control how work is performed, provide tools or materials, or create an employment, agency, franchise, partnership, or joint-venture relationship.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate information and keep contact, location, and profile details current.
- Use your own account and protect access to your device and sign-in links or codes.
- Do not impersonate another person, create accounts to evade restrictions, or misuse another person's information.
- Notify House Hand support if you believe an account or marketplace record has been misused.
Worker accounts become usable through signup and profile completion. House Hand does not require routine approval before a worker can participate. We may review suspicious activity, reports, credentials, or content and may limit an account when needed for safety or enforcement.
4. Jobs, offers, and selection
Homeowners are responsible for describing a job honestly, sharing useful photos, choosing an appropriate category, and identifying known hazards or access limits. Workers are responsible for reviewing the listing, asking needed questions, and sending an offer they can reasonably perform.
An offer is provided by the worker, not House Hand. Scope, price, schedule, payment, and work quality are between the homeowner and worker.
An offer should clearly describe price, timing, included work, important exclusions, and any assumptions. A homeowner's selection records the chosen offer in House Hand and unlocks direct coordination; it does not guarantee arrival, payment, completion, or a particular result.
5. Payments, taxes, licenses, and insurance
Unless House Hand explicitly introduces an in-platform payment feature, homeowners and workers arrange and complete payment directly. Each party is responsible for receipts, taxes, permits, licenses, insurance, tools, materials, and legal obligations that apply to the job or business.
Credentials, licenses, certifications, insurance, experience, and work history may be self-reported by workers unless specifically marked as admin-reviewed. Homeowners should confirm any qualifications that matter for their job before hiring.
6. Contact and location sharing
Active job listings show a general area so workers can judge travel distance. The homeowner's exact address, private access notes, and selected contact details stay hidden until the homeowner selects a worker. After selection, House Hand shares the information needed for those two parties to coordinate. Use that information only for the selected job and do not publish, sell, or misuse it.
7. Content you provide
You keep ownership of your photos, descriptions, profile information, offers, reviews, and messages. You give House Hand a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the marketplace. Promotion outside the listing should not reveal private contact or exact-address information.
You confirm that you have the right to upload the content and that it does not violate another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or the law. House Hand may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or creates a safety, legal, or marketplace-integrity risk.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Illegal, dangerous, fraudulent, deceptive, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or exploitative activity.
- Jobs or offers involving stolen property, unlawful access, weapons, sexual services, controlled substances, or work that cannot lawfully be offered through the marketplace.
- False credentials, fabricated reviews, misleading photos, hidden mandatory fees, bait-and-switch pricing, spam, or coordinated manipulation.
- Scraping, automated account creation, probing security controls, distributing malware, overloading the service, or bypassing access restrictions.
- Using contact, location, support, or report information for stalking, retaliation, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the marketplace interaction.
9. Safety, reviews, reports, and moderation
Users should make their own safety and hiring decisions, confirm qualifications that matter, communicate clearly, and avoid work conditions that feel unsafe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
Reviews must reflect a real House Hand job and honest experience. Reports and support requests should identify the relevant job, offer, message, or account and must not be used for retaliation. House Hand may investigate, preserve evidence, hide content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or cooperate with lawful requests. Administrative review is not a promise that House Hand will detect every risk or verify every claim.
10. Access plans and future paid features
Worker access may be free during launch. House Hand may introduce paid packages or other features later, but will present the applicable price and recurring terms before charging. A paid plan would provide platform features only and would not make a worker an employee or guarantee jobs, offers, earnings, placement, or results.
11. Cancellations and disputes
Homeowners and workers are responsible for communicating schedule changes, cancellations, scope changes, payment concerns, property damage, and work-quality disputes. House Hand support may preserve records and help the parties communicate, but House Hand does not guarantee refunds, collections, repairs, completion, or dispute outcomes unless a separate written policy says otherwise.
12. Account restrictions and deletion
You may stop using House Hand or request account deletion from your account or the account deletion page. House Hand may restrict, suspend, or close access for violations, safety concerns, legal requirements, fraud prevention, or material risk to the marketplace. Some records may be retained or de-identified as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Service availability and disclaimers
House Hand is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, House Hand disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and warranties arising from a course of dealing. We do not promise uninterrupted access, a minimum number of jobs or offers, a worker's suitability, or the quality, safety, legality, timing, or outcome of work.
To the extent permitted by law, House Hand is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the service or an interaction between users. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as House Hand changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. Continued use after the change becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Use the House Hand support center for questions, disputes, safety reports, or account help.
